Great Painting. Did you use some custom brush in the first step to spread the forms?

The beautiful thing about Alchemy (well, one anyway), everyone's stuff looks completely different when they use it... :3 thanks for doing these step by steps, I found seeing someone's workflow really helpful :)

another awsome painting!! (:
can i ask how you went from the 2nd to last stage to the end result, looks awsome did you overlay a sort of rust texture or did it involve a lot of hard work with colours to get that particular rusty feel?

i rotated the initial silhouette and oyerlayed it once again to get more detail. i also used some rough scatter brushes and a subtle phototexture =) then i applied color in the very end. getting a rusty feel isnt that hard! you can even add some rust leaking. take a rough scatter brush (one that matches the rust feeling at least a bit) and add it in all little corners and places rust could eventially appear! means. if the painted metal surface is scratched rust will appear there cause its not protected by car paint anymore and so on. after that use the smudge tool and gently sudge some of the tips down. and thats it =)

wow! brilliant idea thanks very much, also when you add the colours with the scatter brush would you use the overlay effect, lower the opacity or just go for it?

oh it depends! actually just choose whatever looks the best. thats the main goal cause in the end it doesnt matter how you achieved it =)

be sure to practice shading your stuff in black and white =) you will get a feel for the values first . its easier than doing it with color
