THE GUARDIAN by dasAdam THE GUARDIAN by dasAdam
heres a picture of my very first oil painting

i painted it on a 20cm x 20 cm canvas so its rather small ^^;
i just applied solid color since i didnt buy any mediums or linseed oil that day
have much to learn O_o but its fun!

EDIT: i might ask my brother to take a better picture of it. he has got one of these fancy HUGE cameras and he is better at taking pictures than i will ever be.... ;_;

Welcome. I may not paint stuff, but I pixel and build, and I know how hard it is to do something that looks that good in either. So, yeah, great job!

For being your first oil painting, I think that this is one of my favorite pieces of artwork that I've seen in a while, in all honesty. Even if you feel like your technique in applying paint was a bit basic, I feel like you pulled it off fantastically. Your knowledge of art shows in the way you can transition from mediums and still have great success.

That said, I actually like this enough that I'm going to try to emulate the style that you used for this in my own first oil painting. :)
